Step Through the Doorway into 2026 – New Year Reflections
- by Jackie Jarvis The Walking Business Coach
As we step gently into 2026, take a deep breath. A moment to pause before we get back to work. Maybe take a special walk to reflect. Reflect on how far you’ve come, not just in business, but in courage, clarity, and confidence.
You’ve chosen one of the most rewarding paths there is: Helping your clients to grow whilst building a business that reflects who you truly are. It’s not a small thing. It takes vision, patience, and faith in your own unique value.
So before diving into your list of business development tasks, or marketing activities, I invite you to begin this New Year with some reflection and intention.
Revisit What Really Matters
Each year brings a new wave of ideas and “shoulds”. You should post more. You should create a sales process, you should build a database, you should reach out to your network more.
But the truth is? Sustainable success in a coaching business doesn’t come from shoulds, it comes from really want to, it comes from staying connected to your purpose.
What kind of work do you want to be doing in 2026? Which clients inspire you most deeply? What kind of impact do you want your coaching to have this year?
Could 2026 be the year you stop striving and start focusing on what’s meaningful. When your business grows from that place, it feels lighter, easier!
Grow Through Connection
A coaching business grows through relationships, not transactions. Every conversation has the potential to plant a seed, a seed that might take weeks, months, or even years to grow.
So, 2026 could be the time to reach out to past clients, old colleagues’, your network. Not with a pitch, but with a genuine interest in finding out about them. Ask how they are. Listen. Offer insight.
When you stay visible in a way that feels natural and kind, it brings the right energy in. When that happens your business has the chance to expand in a way that feels organic and real.
Give Yourself Permission to Simplify
A New Year gives us all a chance to set new intentions and to make changes for the better. Fresh New Year energy can do that.
Growth doesn’t always mean doing more, sometimes it means doing less, but better.
I am a big believer in the power of simplifying.
So, what has been working for you and what has not?
Is it time to really think about what is worth taking forward and what is not?
Believe in What’s Possible
You help others believe in themselves and what is possible, now it is your turn. Time to turn that same belief inward.
2026 invites you to trust yourself, your voice, your vision, and the real value you have to share through your work.
Because when you believe in your own value, the right clients will too.
A Reflection to Carry Forward
“Clarity comes from action, not from waiting for the perfect moment.” Jackie Jarvis
So why not make that plan, a plan that you can start taking steps to bring alive. Each small action will move you closer to where you’re meant to be.
As you step through the doorway into 2026, it is important to know, You don’t have to have it all figured out. You simply need to stay open, curious, and committed to growing, both as a coach and as the owner of a coaching business
Here’s to a year of authentic growth, bold visibility, and meaningful connection.
Your 2026 chapter starts now.
